Kid View

A couple of weeks ago, we bought pumpkins to ring in the start of fall.  The next day when the kids decorated their  pumpkins,  I snapped a few pictures of them hard at work...

Then I slipped into the kitchen to make some chocolate brownie cookies...Ahem...They were healthy chocolate brownie cookies.  Then I gave the kids the camera and asked them to line up the pumpkins on the table when they were done and snap a few pictures for the blog...

Pretty sure this is the same pumpkin... from 4 different angles...

Hmmm...not quite sure what is going on here...

Thank you kids for following my directions to the "t."...

It's Fall

I love fall.

I love the leaves and the crisp chilly air, the smell of anything pumpkin baking in the oven.

Fall means just around the corner is Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

Each year we try to get outdoors and go for a family hike and pick pumpkins to ring in the official start of fall which happened a couple of weeks ago.  This year we went for a hike at the University of Tennessee Arboretum.
We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

I loved watching the kids grab a buddy or two and head out for an adventure.

I had to post 2 of these sweet kids holding hands because this is not normal behavior for them...and I wanted to make sure I captured the moment.

These 2 always make me smile.

I loved this photo of 2 leaves suspended in the air by a spiderweb.  Thanks, Bella for suggesting I take a picture of it.

These 2 are pretty close.  Meredith is usually ok when I hold a friend's baby but whenever Cardi holds another kid, she cries and cries until Cardi puts the kid down and holds her instead.

This year we bought our pumpkins from our favorite road side market, Mickeys.  We spent the rest of the day hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather and company.

If you give a toddler Cheese Bread...

She may just think she's a super star...

If she thinks she's a superstar, she may ask for some milk to go with her bread...

Then she'll have a milk mustache and want to wash her face and hands...

And once you teach her how to wash her hands, she may sneak off when you're not looking and try to wash them herself...

And then while you're cleaning up the water from the sink, she will want to color...on her sisters white shoes and her shirt...

While you try to find the permanent marker, she'll decide it's time to eat lunch...

When you change her, she will insist on wearing her brother's dinosaur underwear and socks...

Then she'll decide she wants to play in the baskets you told her not to

And then she'll throw a fit when you take them away

But then she'll remember she wanted to help you make the playdough that you volunteered to make for John's preschool

and that she wanted to push buttons on the microwave

Then she'll decide she needs a bath but not before she has to wash her hands and rearrange the bathroom

and maybe mop the floor

After her bath, she'll remember she just learned to climb...on everything...

After you have taken her off the dryer, cleaned up all the water, baskets, and dry ingredients for playdough, she'll remember she's hungry and so you will give her some more cheese bread and then you'll remember to give her a glass of milk...and
a nap...
